In September 2021 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Art, which included the work Armée Chrétienne Repoussant Un Débarquement Ottoman by Jan Peeters. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,150.00 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Peeters have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ottoman forces attacking an islet fortress, possibly Grambusa, during the Siege of Candia in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 66,851.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Armée Chrétienne Repoussant Un Débarquement Ottoman von Jan Peeters zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.150,00 und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Peeters auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ottoman forces attacking an islet fortress, possibly Grambusa, during the Siege of Candia im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 63.650,00 (€ 66.851,02).
