Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve, which included the work River landscape with fishermen by Jan van Goyen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 289,800.00 (€ 338,108.77), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Goyen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Wooden Landing Stage On A Frozen River, Churches And A Windmill At Left On The Distant Shore, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,070,370.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit River landscape with fishermen von Jan van Goyen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 289.800,00 (€ 338.108,77) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van Goyen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Wooden Landing Stage On A Frozen River, Churches And A Windmill At Left On The Distant Shore beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für USD 1.445.000,00 (€ 1.070.370,37) versteigert wurde.
