This artwork by Javier Marín achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2009. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Male Torso sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 41,683.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Javier Marín - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Torso de hombre amarillo, which sold at auction in September this year for USD 100,800.00 (€ 95,238.10).

In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Male Torso für USD 62.500,00 (€ 41.683,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Javier Marín mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Torso de hombre amarillo beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für USD 100.800,00 (€ 95.238,10) versteigert wurde.
