A top price for Jean-Antoine Julien - as previously expected
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work The Marriage of Alexander to Roxana by Jean-Antoine Julien. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 19,057.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Marriage of Alexander to Roxana is the most expensive artwork by Jean-Antoine Julien that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Marriage of Alexander to Roxana von Jean-Antoine Julien zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 19.057,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Marriage of Alexander to Roxana das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jean-Antoine Julien, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
