Auction result misses estimated price range

In April last year a collector was able to acquire the work A drover and his cattle crossing a bridge by Jean-Baptiste de Roy for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,672.43). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste de Roy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 9,051.99).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im April letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A drover and his cattle crossing a bridge von Jean-Baptiste de Roy für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.672,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste de Roy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 9.051,99).
