Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Étude de jeune fille, en pied, vue de dos, la tête tournée vers la droite by Jean-Baptiste Greuze was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 22,680.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Étude de jeune fille, en pied, vue de dos, la tête tournée vers la droite von Jean-Baptiste Greuze im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 22.680,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Greuze erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.082.500,00 (€ 827.662,67).
