In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Joie de Vivre: Modern Art and the Riviera, which included the work Ronde de trois danseuses by Jean Cocteau. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,067.42), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Cocteau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mediterranee - 1952 in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 132,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Joie de Vivre: Modern Art and the Riviera durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ronde de trois danseuses von Jean Cocteau zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.067,42) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Cocteau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mediterranee - 1952 im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 132.000,00.
