This artwork by Jean Ferdinand Monchablon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2020. In the European Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work La Saône À Châtillon, Le Soir (Vosges) sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,820.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean Ferdinand Monchablon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fresnes sold at auction in January 2011 with the realized price of USD 34,375.00 (€ 25,063.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Ferdinand Monchablon erzielte im April 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit La Saône À Châtillon, Le Soir (Vosges) für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.820,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jean Ferdinand Monchablon; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Fresnes im Januar 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 25.063,80).
