This artwork by Jean-Gabriel Domergue achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June 2020. In the Art Impressionniste et Moderne auction, the work Couple à l'Opéra sold for EUR 68,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean-Gabriel Domergue; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Les danseuses de French Cancan sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of USD 164,500.00 (€ 129,588.78).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Gabriel Domergue erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Impressionniste et Moderne wurde die Arbeit Couple à l'Opéra für EUR 68.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jean-Gabriel Domergue; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Les danseuses de French Cancan im November 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 164.500,00 (€ 129.588,78).
