Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Addiction | Benjamin Steinitz, which included the work Elégante En Tenue De Soirée by Jean-Gabriel Domergue. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Gabriel Domergue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les danseuses de French Cancan in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 164,500.00 (€ 129,588.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Addiction | Benjamin Steinitz durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elégante En Tenue De Soirée von Jean-Gabriel Domergue zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Gabriel Domergue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les danseuses de French Cancan im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 164.500,00 (€ 129.588,78).
