Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les Toits De La Kasbah by Jean Gaston Mantel was sold in the Orientalism auction at Artcurial in June 2012. It changed hands for a price of EUR 9,920.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean Gaston Mantel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fantasia, 1968 in December 2009 with an auction result of EUR 60,450.00.

Die Arbeit Les Toits De La Kasbah von Jean Gaston Mantel wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion Orientalism bei Artcurial versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 9.920,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Gaston Mantel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fantasia, 1968 im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.450,00.
