Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le couple et la lune by Jean-Jacques Sempé was sold in the Jean-Jacques Sempé auction at Artcurial in Paris in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 22,370.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Jacques Sempé - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 4th of July, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 69,742.00.

Die Arbeit Le couple et la lune von Jean-Jacques Sempé wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Jean-Jacques Sempé bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 22.370,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Jacques Sempé mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 4th of July beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 69.742,00 versteigert wurde.
