Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Femme Agenouillée" by Théodore Géricault was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,409.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Géricault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait d'Alfred et Elisabeth Dedreux in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 9,025,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Femme Agenouillée" von Théodore Géricault im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.409,15) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Théodore Géricault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait d'Alfred et Elisabeth Dedreux im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.025.000,00.
