Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction STYLE London: Furniture, Clocks, Silver, Ceramics & Works of Art, which included the work Study of a Horse by Ernest Meissonier. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,557.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Meissonier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Deux Amis in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 442,000.00 (€ 418,481.35).
