In September 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Property of the Scheringa Museum of Realist Art, which included the work Homme à la veste violette by Jean Rustin. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,875.00 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Rustin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dans la grande salle, which sold at auction in January 2006 for EUR 30,000.00.

Im September 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Property of the Scheringa Museum of Realist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Homme à la veste violette von Jean Rustin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.875,00 und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Rustin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dans la grande salle beobachtet, die im Januar 2006 für EUR 30.000,00 versteigert wurde.
