This artwork by Jia Aili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the ICONOCLAST auction, the work The Wasteland sold for HKD 18,125,000.00 (€ 2,074,401.29) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jia Aili - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Combustion, which sold at auction in November this year for USD 4,769,000.00 (€ 4,372,020.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jia Aili erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ICONOCLAST wurde die Arbeit The Wasteland für HKD 18.125.000,00 (€ 2.074.401,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jia Aili mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Combustion beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für USD 4.769.000,00 (€ 4.372.020,54) versteigert wurde.
