This artwork by Jin Nong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Pine sold for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,366.59) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jin Nong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Qi Script in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 7,520,000.00 (€ 878,536.50).
