Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Czech Illustration For Thyrsos (Ilustrace Pro Thyrsos) by Jindřich Štyrský was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,828.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jindřich Štyrský achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Femme (Ou Prostituée)- 1922 in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 269,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Czech Illustration For Thyrsos (Ilustrace Pro Thyrsos) von Jindřich Štyrský im November 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.828,87) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jindřich Štyrský erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Femme (Ou Prostituée)- 1922 im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 269.400,00.
