This artwork by Joan Eardley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May 2021. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Beehives sold for GBP 14,000.00 (€ 16,289.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Eardley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Eardley erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Beehives für GBP 14.000,00 (€ 16.289,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
