Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish chico Con Sombrero, Jávea (Boy With Sombrero, Jávea) by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,261.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,603,912.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Spanish chico Con Sombrero, Jávea (Boy With Sombrero, Jávea) von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida kam im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 139.261,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.737.250,00 (€ 4.603.912,82).
