In July 2020 Il Ponte held the auction Fotografia, which included the work Woman once a bird 1990 by Joel-Peter Witkin. The result of EUR 900.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 900.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel-Peter Witkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Kiss in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 38,783.14).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Fotografia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman once a bird 1990 von Joel-Peter Witkin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 900,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 900,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel-Peter Witkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Kiss im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.250,00 (€ 38.783,14).
