Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (JS 1731) - 2007 by Joel Shapiro was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Artcurial in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 72,160.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joel Shapiro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 615,452.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (JS 1731) - 2007 von Joel Shapiro wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Artcurial versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 72.160,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joel Shapiro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 615.452,15).
