Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Couple I by Jogen Chowdhury was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September this year. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,809.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jogen Chowdhury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Day Dreaming" in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 373,250.00 (€ 437,996.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Couple I von Jogen Chowdhury wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.809,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jogen Chowdhury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Day Dreaming" im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 373.250,00 (€ 437.996,36).
