In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Pictures, which included the work A bacchanal with nymphs and satyrs dancing and making music in a wooded landscape by Jan van Haensbergen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11), 46% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jan van Haensbergen have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,518.43) in July 2011 for the work The Money Changer.
