Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jupiter and Mercury in the house of Philemon and Baucis by Johann Heiss was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2019. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,411.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Heiss have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vulcan Surprising Venus And Mars In Bed Before An Assembly Of The Gods in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 157,886.69).

Die Arbeit Jupiter and Mercury in the house of Philemon and Baucis von Johann Heiss kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.411,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden.
