Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan Fris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2007. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work A 'vanitas' with a sculpture of a putto, a globe, a skull, a bone, an hourglass, a flute and books on a draped table sold for EUR 156,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Fris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A still life with a stoneware jug, a glass of beer, playing cards and smokers’ requisites sold at auction in January 2021 with the realized price of USD 365,400.00 (€ 301,112.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Fris erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
