Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Samepojkar i höglänt terräng by John Bauer was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 100,000.00 – 125,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 80,000.00 (€ 7,617.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bauer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Troll, stjärnenatt' (Troll, starry night) in December 2021 with an auction result of SEK 1,700,000.00 (€ 165,824.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Samepojkar i höglänt terräng von John Bauer im Juni 2019 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 100.000,00 – 125.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 80.000,00 (€ 7.617,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bauer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Troll, stjärnenatt' (Troll, starry night) im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 1.700.000,00 (€ 165.824,35).
