Sold at the lower estimate price
The work "Portrait Of Edmund Burke (1729/30–97); Portrait Of Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1751–1816)" by John Downman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,791.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Downman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Henry Frederick Bouverie And His Sister in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
