Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Gilded Age Revisited: Property from a Distinguished American Collection, which included the work Portrait Of Sultan, A Racehorse, In A Landscape by John Ferneley, Sen.. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,561.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Sen. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silver firs at Osberton in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 692,000.00 (€ 1,018,324.83).
