Eastwood Collection: Important Sporting and Irish Pictures, which included the work Preparing for the Doncaster Gold Cup, 1825, with Mr. Whittaker's 'Lottery', Mr. Craven's 'Longwaist', Mr. Lampton's 'Cedric', and Mr. Farquharson's 'Figaro' by John Frederick Herring Senior. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 275,000.00 (€ 322,494.52), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Frederick Herring Senior have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Start for the Derby, 1834 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,600.00 (€ 1,632,212.62).

Eastwood Collection: Important Sporting and Irish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Preparing for the Doncaster Gold Cup, 1825, with Mr. Whittaker's 'Lottery', Mr. Craven's 'Longwaist', Mr. Lampton's 'Cedric', and Mr. Farquharson's 'Figaro' von John Frederick Herring Senior zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 322.494,52) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Frederick Herring Senior auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Start for the Derby, 1834 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.105.600,00 (€ 1.632.212,62).
