Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Frederick Tennant could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Pictures auction, the work A wooded river landscape with a shepherd and his cattle in the foreground, a castle beyond changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,385.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by John Frederick Tennant have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2007 by the work A Hunting Party In An Extensive Landscape at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,191.23).
