In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction THE TRAVEL SALE, which included the work Field Sports of the Native Inhabitants of New South Wales (Abbey Travel 2, nos. 101-110), supplement to Foreign Field Sports by John Heaviside Clark. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 822.50 (€ 1,327.99), 18% above the upper estimate. With this result, Field Sports of the Native Inhabitants of New South Wales (Abbey Travel 2, nos. 101-110), supplement to Foreign Field Sports is even the most expensive work of art by John Heaviside Clark that we have observed at auctions so far.
