Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work A nymph by John Hoppner. The price achieved of GBP 15,062.50 (€ 16,801.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Hoppner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Henrietta Maria Vernon Atherton, 2nd Lady Lilford (d. 1820), of Atherton Hall, Leigh, with her two children in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 81,900.00 (€ 96,044.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit A nymph von John Hoppner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.062,50 (€ 16.801,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hoppner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Henrietta Maria Vernon Atherton, 2nd Lady Lilford (d. 1820), of Atherton Hall, Leigh, with her two children im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.900,00 (€ 96.044,73).
