Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Louisa, Lady Leighton (d.1842) half-length, seated in a white dress with a white fichu and blue sash, wearing a white headdress, in a landscape by John Hoppner was auctioned at Christies in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 16,380.00 (€ 19,110.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00.
