Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Three cows in a pile) by John Kelly for GBP 750.00 (€ 787.72). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 in August last year with an auction result of AUD 141,450.00 (€ 96,492.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Three cows in a pile) von John Kelly für GBP 750,00 (€ 787,72) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 141.450,00 (€ 96.492,37).
