The work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley by John Melhuish Strudwick was sold in the Important British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley is the most expensive artwork by John Melhuish Strudwick that we have observed at auctions so far.
