Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Cylindrical Form by John Milne. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,458.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Milne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vertical Form, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,252.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cylindrical Form von John Milne zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.458,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John Milne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vertical Form beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.252,68) versteigert wurde.
