Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work The Normandie Departing From Le Havre by John Stewart for GBP 587.50 (€ 934.90). This price was achieved in the auction MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Muhammad Ali, "Fist & Arm", Chicago in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,121.91).

Im November 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Normandie Departing From Le Havre von John Stewart für GBP 587,50 (€ 934,90) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00.
