The price achieved of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 37,241.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Trotter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of An Officer Of The 18Th Royal Irish Regiment Of Foot, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 85,250.00 (€ 89,537.31).
