This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Wheatley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The rowing boat in September 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,087.23).
