In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Winding wool in a Pompeian garden by John William Godward. The price achieved of GBP 250,000.00 (€ 295,470.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00.
