Upper estimate price exceeded by 80 %.
This artwork by Jonathan Meese achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Cologne in June this year. In the Twenty One Contemporary auction, the work Edmond Dantès - 2007 sold for EUR 7,216.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Meese achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Agamemnon's Hähnchenbesteck in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 132,500.00 (€ 190,278.72).
