This artwork by José Antonio Hernández-Diéz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2004. In the Latin American Sale auction, the work Vas P'Al Cielo Y Vas Llorando sold for USD 25,095.00 (€ 18,926.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by José Antonio Hernández-Diéz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vehículos Perfectos (Three Skateboards) sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of USD 28,125.00 (€ 22,156.14).
