Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2016 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Cleaning the copper by Joseph Bail. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,602.27). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Bail - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté), which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,209.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cleaning the copper von Joseph Bail zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.602,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Bail mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 46.600,00 (€ 32.209,01) versteigert wurde.
