It changed hands for a price of GBP 39,435.00 (€ 55,854.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three for tea in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 201,750.00 (€ 345,387.83).
