Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Stella could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the An American Summer auction, the work Bird in Flight changed hands for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,372.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tree of My Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,937,500.00 (€ 5,243,751.66).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Stella konnte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion An American Summer wechselte die Arbeit Bird in Flight für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.372,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tree of My Life im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.937.500,00 (€ 5.243.751,66).
