Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Stella could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Tree Trunk And Roots changed hands for USD 4,750 (€ 4,356) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000 – 12,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tree of My Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,937,500 (€ 5,243,752).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Stella konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Tree Trunk And Roots für USD 4.750 (€ 4.356) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000 – 12.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tree of My Life im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.937.500 (€ 5.243.752).
