Here, the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 3,250.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Moerenhout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Collecting the daily catch in October 2004 with an auction result of EUR 19,120.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cossacks from the Imperial Russian Army von Joseph Moerenhout kam im Juni 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 3.250,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Moerenhout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Collecting the daily catch im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.120,00.
