A top price for Judith Leyster - as previously expected
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction Important Old Master Paintings from The Eric Albada Jelgersma Collection: Evening sale, which included the work Merry Company by Judith Leyster. The price achieved of GBP 1,808,750.00 (€ 2,015,107.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Merry Company is the most expensive artwork by Judith Leyster that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings from The Eric Albada Jelgersma Collection: Evening sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Merry Company von Judith Leyster zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.808.750,00 (€ 2.015.107,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Merry Company das teuerste Kunstwerk von Judith Leyster, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
