Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julian Alden Weir could be acquired at Bonhams in Paris in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Sketch for the Building of the Dam changed hands for USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,204.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Alden Weir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nassau, Bahamas in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 459,000.00 (€ 393,316.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julian Alden Weir konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Sketch for the Building of the Dam für USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.204,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Alden Weir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nassau, Bahamas im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 459.000,00 (€ 393.316,20).
